PRODUCTS: SOUND INSULATION AND ABSORPTION

Sound insulation and absorption parts have the purpose of reducing noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) inside a car. As consumers become more demanding of comfort in their environment, these parts have been improving in design and specification to increase their performance. Some of these parts made by HASB include:

INNER DASH INSULATORS
Inner dash insulators are placed between the carpet and the front firewall of the vehicle. Their function is to insulate the passenger compartment from noise coming from the engine compartment. Most inner dash insulators consist of a high density layer of material that is bonded to a layer of low density porous fibre or foam material. Modern insulators are usually moulded to varying thickness for a good fit with the steel panel in order to increase its effectiveness. HASB makes these products from heavy elastomeric sheet and resinated felt or polyurethane foam, in both bonded and moulded forms.

OUTER DASH INSULATORS
Outer dash insulators are placed in the engine compartment next to the firewall. Their function is to augment the inner dash insulators by absorbing engine noise and heat before it reaches the firewall and the passenger compartment. A typical outer dash insulator is made with fibre material and a textile cover; precision moulded to have a perfect fit with the firewall. Due to their location in the engine compartment, all materials used are oil and fire resistant. HASB makes this product from resinated felt and non-woven fabrics to customer specifications.

BONNET /HOOD LINERS
These liners are attached to the underside of the bonnet. Their function is to prevent heat damage by insulating the bonnet from the heat of the engine. A secondary function is to improve the aesthetics of the engine compartment when the bonnet is opened. A typical bonnet liner is moulded, lightweight fibre material with a covering textile material. Due to its location in the engine compartment, all materials used are oil and fire resistant. HASB makes this product from resinated felt and non-woven fabrics to customer specifications.

FLOOR LINERS OR COVERINGS
Floor liners are mostly used in commercial and heavy vehicles in Malaysia instead of carpets. This is because they can withstand greater wear and tear, and are more practical to keep clean. They are made of polymeric sheets, formed and cut to fit the interior floor space of the vehicles.
